The Dutch Government is moving to expeditiously legalize infanticide. It has now created a commission to create the rules for the legal killing of “seriously suffering” babies. This is a tremendous violation of human rights. Shame on the Netherlands and the general lack of protest around the world.
The “patriarch of bioethics” Joseph Fletcher once called infanticide “post birth abortion.” Apparently the Dutch agree. Note this quote from a high official, “We wanted to respond to the needs of doctors to create clarity in how to deal with ending the life of seriously suffering newborns as well as the legal consequences of late abortions,” Justice Minister Piet Hein Donner and Junior Health Minister Clemence Ross-van Dorp wrote in a letter to parliament.
For shame.
I wish I could say I was horrified, but the fact is that I have gotten so benumbed by this sort of news that I begin to wonder why it took them so long. It is, after all, part of a logical progression. Who was it that said “the problem with insanity isn’t that it’s illogical; the problem is that it is only logical?” (probably parapharasing)
The only logical progression i can see is that the whole world gets more and more crowded by the human mankind – so why dont allow women to make not only a desicion for them selves when they want an abortion – they can do it for that too: that we dont get to fast to many people on earth , we a r e already enough individues and who cares about all the other species on this planet? We dont need to grow so fast.
In about 200 jears we will already be extinct because of overpopulation, and resulting pollution and who cares?
